This is the coin I recently obtained that was curiously identified as an unlisted VAM, 1884-O E reverse. It is actually an example of the 1884 Philadelphia VAM 2a.
The E clash is partial. I was fortunate to get such a good angle.
The coin is also an overdate. Like the 1880-CC it has the remnants of an * under the second 8 in the date, usually referred to as a "dash under the 8. The 1880 -CC VAM 8 is like this.
If you look at that second photo of the 8, it very well be an 8 over 7. If you look closely you will see what looks like a line bisecting the lower loop of the 8 from 8 o'clock to 2 o'clock. I will have to check my VAM book.
