I think it is a very nice die filled but again I could be wrong. I usually am.

Definately looks like it was struck through grease to me. Nice one. Can you make out the date.

First I guess it was grease filled but possibly it might be a very incomplete strike (not sure how folks distinguish between incomplete and trial)

Less possibly it could be a foreign planchet, to be that it would be underweight probably around 1.7g. It would probably not be as complete so I almost rule this out. Does it look smaller?

It could not be struck through a capped die, if it was the reverse would be strong and it's not so I would rule it out.

1. Definitely not a capped die strike. One side would be very mushy (nothing clear) and the other side would probably have everything clear.

2. Probably not grease either. Grease usually affects single areas of one side or the other, and will show as mottling in the fields. I see rather clean fields on a very understruck coin. Grease also does not have a lack of higher point details. There are no high relief details on this coin.

3. Whether this is just an incomplete strike or a die trial strike...this coin was struck with well under half the pressure of a normal strike. It would have to be a very malfunctioning machine to do this by accident.

My summarization of what I believe this to be - a die trial strike.

I can make out the second number which is a 9 very weak. but the last 2 numbers I can not make out but it has to be a 1993 or newer cause of the closed AM in America. I would say it is most diffently a die fill but it is the strongest die filled I have ever seen.

Murph,
Went to the bank today bought a 25 dollar bank bag of loose circulated cents and thats what I have pulled out so far. Just think They said that bag was scheduled to go back to the mint.

What would you say on ebay a good 9.99 lol. plp love that number.

The Mint doesn't accept coins back from the banks. The teller didn't know what they were telling you because it couldn't be true. They were probably just sending them to another branch or another bank.

I wouldn't put any money on it, but it looks like 1994-D. It is very different from any I've seen.
01/24/2007. I made a run to my bank today, and asked if they had any 2007, cents. The manager said no, not yet. We are still waiting for the 2006's!!! All we get is circulated mixed, from returns. Who do you have to know to 1. Get a box of "P" cents, 2. A box of 2006-P cents, and 3. A box of 2007, any mint????

No clue what that would be worth, you'd have to ask someone who knows the error market better than I do. I know more about how to recognize them than how much they sell for.

My guess is $20-$30.

Darrell, it is the shape of the shadowy areas that give me the impression that it might be a '94-D. The vertical dark spot is in the correct spot for the MM, and the third digit is definitely a "9". The angled dark area also fits where the "4" might be. Having MD, (macular Deterioration), causes me to have to look at things, a bit differently than most, so there are times that it helps, and times when it is a big drawback!
