I would say not machine doubling as the other columns on each side is affected. Could be a doubled die, could be a gouge or bag nick. Bob would probably have to have this one in hand to tell for sure. But to me looks promising. Hang on to it till we know for sure. Bob may have some info on it. First one I've seen that looked like a bar that high. But anything is possible I guess in the process.

Only from what I can see, I cannot say whether this is a doubled die. It would take close examination to tell for sure.

sma e picture at 200x the other one was at 6ox I found it with a 10x loop.

That won't do the trick...a flat picture is a flat picture. I would have to see the relief of the coin and be able to look at it under different angles and directions of light to tell anything for sure.

From what little I can see I would say it's machine doubling without being able to examine it further. It looks sharp-edged and flat.
