I agree. The pictures are very telling, and if it wasn't for the date, I would quickly say it's definitely a doubled die. There is nothing there to convince me otherwise. The notching, extra thickness, etc. all leads me to believe it's true. I guess I will have to start looking at some 2001 coins to see if I can get lucky. It could be that the single squeezer was out to lunch and asked the old guys back for a bit Laughing

Let me get this straight... then its not impossible as claimed before. Will this coin receive a coppercoins designation?

Im just very curious. I guess cherrypicking Lincoln cents from the 21st century is not such a bad idea after all Very Happy

That coin could only get a coppercoins designation if sent in for attribution and examined, then found to be a doubled die for sure. I do not trust photos completely nor do I know any marker information for it even if it is a doubled die.
