I will be in there for an hour or so this evening to see how many stop here, read this, and stop by for a visit.
I do want to start a regular chat night in the chat room. I am considering one evening during the week, probably either Wednesdays or Thursdays. I want to go ahead and give it a go for tonight (for starters).
Some things to remember:
You don't have to use any particular login name or password, but remember them in case you get booted - you'll be able to use the same thing to log back in.
This chat room is NOT LIVE. You have to hit the reload button to see the new posts. Just type a message and hit 'post' and everyone can see it next time they hit 'reload'
Some bugs that are well known, that will cause problems if you don't adhere to these rules:
1. Do not sit for more than 15 minutes without hitting reload or without leaving the room. Something happens when your server session ends and you try staying active in the chat...essentially it deletes the chat. If you go away and find that you've been gone for more than 15 minutes, just log out and log back in before you reload or post.
2. Do not hit reload more than 5 times inside a minute. There's some magic number here, but I don't even know what it is...but if you keep your reloads to a minumum we won't have any problems.
3. If you happen to be chatting with someone privately inside the main chat room, do not fill your 200 post screen with all private messages - in other words, post to the public once in a while just to keep you active in there. If you chat with someone privately and fill all 200 on-screen posts with private messages, you'll delete the public chat file for everyone and the whole thing will be gone.
That's it...enjoy!
Chuck
