I found this in a 1968 proof set I've had since I was a kid. I thought MDD -- but the lower tip of the S in trust, the bottom of the E in WE and the I in LIBERTY look like it might be a DDO? What is the verdict?

Very intersting.
It looks to be too strong for MDD, but it just might be. Im not sure, but I think that it is a DDO

After looking at the "E", I have to believe that there might be a bit of BOTG! The movement to the East , could be vertical, but the bottom of the "E" looks ROUNDED! Cross your fingers, and check with Chuck, or Bob. Good luck!

On proof coins the term strike double would apply better as they are struck multiple times. The S looks interesting, but the rest looks like strike doubling. It could be a combination of both?

The big DDO for 68-s proof is the FS-027.5 Coneca Die 12. It's fairly strong on LIBERTY, MOTTO and the DATE..
The coin in the picture doesn't look like that variety. If it was you would see it strong on the date and inside the letters of GOD and strong on LIB. (can't miss it on the date)
There are several lesser 68-s proof DDOs. I see what you see on the E and LIB but it looks like something else maybe strike doubling. Maybe someone has a pic of the other lesser ones for the date to be sure, I know the others do show on LIB.
Here's a pic of the big one for 68-S but I can't get decent pics because it's in a holder:

Well, maybe I need to stick to nickels and quarters. I'm always getting fooled by cents.
FYI: I got my latest quarter submission back from John Wexler. The MN P 25c DD count is up to 112. Throw in the MN Denver and San Fransisco quarters and it is nearly 130. I ended up getting 6 new MN listings, including the first DDO/DDR combo. How many more will there be?
