I purchased an example of the Robert Lovett token, M-PA-354 recently. Here it is while the photo lasts.

Eagle Eye Rare Coins sold one some time ago when they had a large selection of civil war tokens. That one was ms64red and I dont recall what it sold for. The interesting thing with mine is that it is not copper. It is brass. I am in the process of trying to figure out the population in brass and copper. I was in contact with Bret Palser, a noted CWT specialist, but he died recently. I also have another possible source. Will let you know when I find something.

That's really cool...I wish I knew someone who really knew the subject well. I could put you in touch with them. Alas, I haven't followed CWTs since they left my price range. I can remember a day when most were available for $5 or less. Now it's hard to touch one for under $25.

That was lot of money to spend on a token, but its quite an important one. So I am happy I had the opportunity to pick it up. I noticed that Harlan Berk's has a Standard Catalog of US Tokens by Russell Rulau. $54.99.
