I recently sent off a batch of potential 25c die varieties to John Wexler for attribution. One of them was a pretty decent 2005 P MN Double earlobe...

A short time ago, I got my batch of coins back from Wexler and found this coin was attributed as both a DDO and a DDR (the first one in his files for the MN series). Here is the DDR...

How did I miss that? I've seen that center tree thousands of times and know that the extra branch pointed to is not supposed to be there. I must have found the DDO and forgot to flip it over. I'm glad Wexler knows better than to leave a coin unflipped.

A very good point Ken. I'll bet you were pleasantly surprised to see that attribution huh?? On Lincoln cents, there are many many coins with varieties on both sides of the coin, so your statement about checking both sides of the coin is as valid now as it ever has been. Congrats on your double doubled die.

Doubled, doubled??? Would that make it a quadrupled die?

Gotta read it carefully Dick. It said Double Doubled die, not doubled, doubled die. If it makes you feel any better, I had originally put doubled before catching my boo-boo Laughing
