Did any one see the Si-Fi mini series on the SiFi channel "The Lost Room"? Great movie with the your always behind the plot series. It is now out on DVD for those who haven't seen it yet. Great movie. I ordered it from Amazon about a month ago to get it when it was released on 4/1/07. But found it where I worked before getting my copy in the mail for about 1/2 the price.... L-A-L

I guess no one else seen it?
It is on the line of "The Twighlight Zone" And "The Outer Limits." Based from a book called "The Key and The Clock." A key that opens everydoor, and always goes to a Motel room # 10. When you exit you go go anywhere in the world with it. You also have to figure in the items from the room that has special powers. IE: A wristwatch, comb, eye, cluff links, alarm clock, Key, glasses other items that keep you wondering how they all fit into the movie. Groups of people with different ideas about the items from the room and missing persons. One that keeps you guessing even after it is over. 284 Minutes in 6 segments. It ran for 2 hours each night for three nights earlier this year. Full of action, susupense and mystery. Great movie. Check around for it, if you like Si-Fi you woun't be disappointed.

I prefer the 1932 Laurel and Hardy movie "The Music Box". It's the story of my life............. trying to get that piano up those long high stairs. And, then when you do you find out that you could have driven the truck up around right to the door.

I've been told those stairs are still there in Los Angeles... it might be fun to go find them and walk up the stairs.

It's the only Laurel and Hardy film to be honored with an Academy Award, for "Best Comedy Short Subject" 1931-32.

Danester, I don't know if you collect them , or not, but I have four catalog boxes, full of the "oldies". I don't know how many there are, but one day, they will go to my youngest daughter. Yes there are several "Laurel and Hardy" videos there, along with John Wayne, Gary Cooper, and many others.

The Music Box Stairs have 133 steps

You can go see them in the hilly Silverlake area northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

In the 1932 Oscar winning short film "The Music Box," Laurel and Hardy struggled to move a piano up a flight of stairs to the fictional address of 1127 Walnut Street. According to the L.A. chapter of the Laurel and Hardy fan club, The Music Box is the second most popular Laurel and Hardy film because of the goofy stumbling antics of the comedy team while they tried to move the piano up the 133 cracked steps.

There is a commemorative plaque at the base of the Laurel and Hardy Silverlake steps, which are located between 923-935 Vendome Street near the intersection of Del Monte Street. The staircase was first seen in 1927 in the long lost film Hats Off, then the location was used again for the more famous film, The Music Box. Check out the address on google maps and see the stairs.

- Laurel and Hardy Gravesites -

Next on your tour is the gravesite of Stan Laurel at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills. The cemetary is about 15 minutes north of The Music Box Stairs and can be reached by driving north on the 5 freeway to the 134 freeway west.

Forest Lawn is more than just a cemetary, it's also a museum, an art gallery, and an architectural showcase. It's located near Griffith Park and several movie studios are nearby such as Disney, Warner Brothers and NBC TV. Forest Lawn covers vast acres of well kept green lawns and has an old-fashioned patriotic theme with towering statues of American Presidents.

When you first drive into the park, pick up a map of the grounds at the information kiosk. The map doesn't list graves of the many stars who are buried there, but it will at least help you locate streets and general areas within Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

To find Stan Laurel's gravesite follow the main Memorial Road up past the Old North Church, to Memory Lane. Turn left (east) on Memory Lane, and park at the curb, in front of the Court of Liberty steps.

Walk up the central tiered steps (towards the giant mosaic), to the third level from the bottom, and there you'll find the grave of screen legend Stan Laurel (1890-1965). His marker is built into the low, stone wall there, on the right (west) side of the main walkway.

The final resting place for Oliver Hardy (1892-1957) is located at Vahalla Memorial Park. Vahalla is located about 10 minutes northwest of Forest Lawn, on the border of Burbank and North Hollywood.

Oliver Hardy's grave is in a section south of the huge fountain. Look for the curb number 1069, which is right next to a low stone wall with the words "Garden of Hope" on the wall. Behind this wall is a small urn garden filled with tiny markers, where Oliver's remains are buried. His small marker is four rows up from the bottom, and five markers to the right (of the left wall). But Olly also has a large plaque on the inside (garden side) of the low stone wall, which is more impressive than his actual marker.

When in LA take this tour.... sounds like fun.

Check out "The Music Box" then look at the google map below.... the area looks exactly the same as it did in 1932 with the long steps up the hill.
