My 14 yr old was searching some rolls with me last night and was going thru a new roll of 07's when he wanted me to look at Lincoln's shoulder on a coin he was looking at. When I got the coin the first thing I noticed was a small bump below the feet in the middle of the pedastal. Die gouge? maybe. extra foot? maybe. Can't take a pic yet but when I do, I'll post it for discussion. I like DDR's that aren't column bars myself. Hopefully this might be something new to look for. Also, these rolls are nice EDS's. I also checked the other coins from the roll and none have that bump so maybe its not a die gouge.

Will Rogers? Wow, I haven't thought about him in years. In fact I had to go look up some of his quotations. He was known for his down home humor...

Live in such a way that you would not be ashamed to sell your parrot to the town gossip.

I'm not a real movie star. I've still got the same wife I started out with twenty-eight years ago.

Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock.

Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for.

Rumor travels faster, but it don't stay put as long as truth.

The best doctor in the world is the veterinarian. He can't ask his patients what is the matter-he's got to just know.

Nothing you can't spell will ever work.

BEAUTIFUL!!!
Murph, You bring back memories! I once had the 78 rpm record with the "Last Flight of Wiley Post", and on the other was "Will Rogers, Your friend, and My Friend". It, and several brown, one-sided records, and a RCA Victor, hand cranked, spring wound Victrola player, with a "volume control" that was a wad of rags on a wire that you shoved into the cone to "turn it down", all went at a swap meet in the early 50's. I had, had it since I was a kid. About the time when the four-track tape players, and then the 8-track players became popular. He was the folks favorite movie star! We would go 25 miles to a theater, on a saturday, for the afternoon matinee!. Dad would not see much, because he worked "grave-yard" and didn't get any sleep, before we went. This was before the depression, late 20's, early 30's. The last time I saw one was in 1938.

And I forgot to mention the cape... What was that cape for? Wiping the sweat off your brow?? Wait it minute, the scarves were used for that and the girls wooooed over them. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

No its a picture I stole off the internet that match your suit in the closet. I edited the image a little to make it look like you, well from the image in the "book." Not a real good likeness though. You don't have black hair. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Bob, those "cool shades", and the "bell-bottoms sure go well together. I'll bet Coop, has the " Blue Suede Shoes", stashed somewhere! Cape????? I thought that was the scarf, he always had around his neck.

No, but I had an old county Band outfit That I wore in the 1970's till about a couple of years ago. But with the cleaning out of the closet, it went away. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
It had flare legs and a pattern running up the leg and on a shirt that went with the outfit. Sat in the closet for 30 years, and I knen it would never fit again. Funny how stuff in the closet shrink?

Rock, you say you have 35 years on Bob. Hmmm. I believe that would make you close to my age! That being the case, what are you doing, "robbing the cradle"???? Your wife graduated in '71, from Eisenhower. HMMM.. Could it be that i, more likely have the 35 years on you??? Even 45? LOL

I know this is in the wrong place, but it fits with the "chain" of thought. I have my BS of A Neckerchief, and I gave the bugle to my kid brother. He is now the Scoutmaster of the "rRjuvenated Troop Number 205! It still fits, but the bugle wouldn't "toot" for me! I guess one needs some "backing behind the lips", at times.

My mistake Dick. I thought someone said they were 19 years old. not 47. Regardless, time flies when you're having fun. And the crazy thing is that I can remember details about 30 years ago but can't remember what i said or did 5 mintues ago.
Rock
PS. still waiting for my scope. Haven't even had a chance to look at any rolls all week.

Hang in there Rock, it will get there, eventually! Laughing
Later: Like you said, the memory is a funny thing. Sometime it works, and sometines one forgets to say what was in mind. Now I forgot what I was going to comment!!!
OH yes, it had to do with the treasing of Bob, by Coop, and the photo of "Bob" in the Elvis suit. Or maybe you said you had about 35 years on Bob. That brought out the comment about the "cradle robber" LOL
