Any opinions on whether this might be a doubled die motto? I know it's not the 1998P-1DR-001. Should I keep it or dump it?
thanks,
Rock

Rock, two answers, one, look at the tops of the letters. edited:
I went back, and there is nothing on the tops! I can't tell much from the 2nd, and 3rd.
Two, When in doubt, KEEP it!

Hi Dick,
I'm presuming your saying look at the top of the letters because the 1dr-001 shows splits on top of the serifs, however this coin does not. Actually I can only see one slpit and thats on the bottom of the L on the left angle.
Thanks
Rock

And that's the reason I changed my comment! I spotted the notch, later. This day has been "different"! I was looking at 1999D-1DR-001, and found a bar on it! It will go to Bob, for comment.

Sometimes a bag nick or the right hit will make it appear notched, but if it is only on one letter, it is probably damage. Even BU coins can have this happen in the bag before rolling.

Another possiblity of the marks on the EPU could be ejection doubling. Marks on the devices.
