Last year of "hand punched" MM? 1990, or 1980? I think it is 1990, but not sure. Dumb question, I know, but I thought I'd ask!

Hi Dick,
That would be 1990 for normal strikes and a few years earlier for proof coins.

I believe the last year of hand punched MM in circulation strike cents was 1989. I think that the last year for proof hand punched dies was 1985 (but Im not too sure about that one).

Yea Gabe is right, I'm thinking of it as 90 is the year they stopped punching them on the dies so 89 was the last year of possible RPMs.

I agree. Gabe is right on the money with 1989 being the last year of hand punched mintmarks.
