Hey guys,
I know I havent been around for a while... we are moving to a new house and I am selling the bulk of my collection. The movers will not move it or insure it. I have sold quite a bit to a private collector and what is left I am selling on ebay. Under Catherinesclutter I also have a post under buy sell trade on some duplicate RPMs and such....
Anyway IM BUYING A HOUSE!!!!! I am so excited.

I've done that in the past, sell off my coins. But always wish I still had them. I've bought a few of the same year coins, but tried to get them in better condition. But miss the fact that they belong to relatives who gave them to me or I bought or found. Memories are woth more than the value of the coin. So I hope you don't regret it later on.

Coop, At least she bought a house. I sold my collections to feed the kids, on more than one occasion. It don't hurt too bad, to see them gone. But when one pulls a dumb stunt like leaving it in the shop, (office), and driving away, thinking the you had put it in "one of the two pickup loads of boxes" you hauled from one state to another, then NEVER finding them! "Now I wonder WHERE THEY COULD BE
? I checked ALL the boxes, but...... Then you get an email that while going thru the old trailer, I found a bunch of coins in some old fruit jars....You get sick in the stomach! How did I MISS them??? Well it WAS dark, I WAS tired, after having made several trips, and having had to leave so much behind, because there just wasn't enough storage space, and not the least, having to give your little palmaranian to one of the neighbors, because there was no way one could keep her, where you had bought your new home. All this while your spouse is having serious medical problems. Yes it does hurt, but you get on with business. And you NEVER forget, either!
It is all part of the game, I guess
PS: The coins were my crown-sized Mexican collection. He said, that since the peso had been de-valued, he thought I had left them, because they weren't worth anything, anymore!!! How dumb can you get?? He "owns" half the world, and has a lifetime lease on the other half, with visions of owning the universe, SOON!

Dont you guys worry...I have quite bit left... too much in fact.
I have more than enough to cover the memories.
You just dont realise how much there was.. Tons and I mean that in weight, and how much is still left here that I am keeping... Besides Grandpa's will told me to buy a house with it.
I am keeping 3 of everything!!
1 for me and 1 each for my daughters!!

I am very proud of you , Cathy! I've seen your listings, and believe you are doing the right thing. Buying the house, is one of the most important things a young family can do. I'll bet it is a "fur piece" from the M-I-L's house!
Later: In case anyone is curious who "he" is, it's my kid brother!

That takes me back. I too bought a house about 35 years ago. Never sold a coin to do that. Just a hell of a big mortgage. Still can't realize a house back then was from $20,000 to about $50,000 for a giant one in the best of area. Now hardly can buy a car for that. HURRY and get that house.
