I thought this was interesting so I posted this coin. The 1 and 9 in the date and also the Y in Liberty appears to be MD or some type of variety. What could it have been?

This is a very good example of mechanical doubling. Between 1936 and 1939, there are many extreme examples of this. It might have been a very nice variety had it been hub doubling.
