I have had a ton of problems, with a "brand name" computer, and finally had no chouce but to run the recovery application, on it. Some hours later, I am, FINALLY, back on line! The first place to be "re-installed", is our own Coppercoins.com! I'll get to the other(s), later. Now for a big batch of applications, so I can "mess up the 'net" with some of my junk!

Bob, this computer would have been "junked", long ago, but being a gift from the wife, for fathers day...... So after a little "praying", and several other comments, I decided to run the recovery (CD's), it is a bit better. Slow as frozen molassess, but on line again!

If it's that slow, then there is something else that needs to be fine tuned on that thing. At least you are up and running, but I was unaware that frozen molasses even ran

Not to be funny but it will flow ever so slightly. Note even glaciers flow. What I always thought was wierd is that glass flows. A window will eventually be thicker at the bottom than at the top due to the flowing. Items, such as frozen molasses, move molecule by molecule ever so slowly. However, this ceases at Absolute Zero. Silly of me on a coin forum.
Dick: Don't know where your at but there are many organizations, companies, free lance people that can update your computer for a reasonable price. If your in the Chicago area, I can tell you of a few of them. I had one updated from a really old piece of nothing to a rip, roaring monster for less than $100. One place is so cheap I had them make me one also.

carlB, Thanks for the info. I have since rebuilt the computer, and it is working ok, (for a "BRAND NAME" unit). I prefer generic, and all of my others are generics.
