Here's an interesting possible DDR. It's 1970 that looks like it has a strongly hubbed last A in AMERICA. There is a history on this die in that J.T. Stanton said this is a double die reverse. Of course I can't find anything on it. Ideas anyone? Steve

It looks to me that the coin shows machine doubling, or mechanical doubling. I dont think that it looks like a true doubled die.

machine and mechanical doubling are the same thing - as is strike doubling.
What you have is an odd form of die wear. I highly doubt this is a doubled die.

I'm guess die wear or abraidment. Seem like only one letter is affected and it is at the end of the line. Kind of like the Poor mans double die as the die wears the field changes shape.
