Looks to be a 1984D with class 2 & 6 doubling. BUT this last trip through the rolling machine killed it.

Still a nice doubled die. These are so scarce, any condition is a collectible coin - until you can find a better one.

I agree. I have searched through hundreds of 1984 P/D rolls, and only found my first 1984 doubled die (other than the doubled ear) a month or so ago. This might be CONECA 1-O-II-C+VI; FS-01-1984D-101 (039). Look for die cracks on columns 9, 10 and 12 which are markers for that variety.

Looks like Die-1 FS-039 to me but on the 1984-P there's several similar ones so maybe there are other varieties of Ds?

I always laughed at the CPG because on this 84-d it says:
"quite findable in pocket change"
But this one is hard to find!!!!!

My favorite 84 is the 1984-P 1DO-002 (die-002) and it's not easy to find and almost never seen for sale. It's also a totaly under-rated doubled die. It's one of the best zinc memorial cent doubled dies because it has nice doubling on the date, liberty, motto, lower bust, hair.

Doesn't appear to be a die scratch, crack or significant chip anywhere on this one. Two small chips directly north of the N in ONE, thats it.
I'll put it back and maybe something will come up about one like it later on.
Thanks
Steven

Steven,

I don't see the markers on this one either but I'm sure it's die-1:
Every one of these I've seen has some errosion doubling by the mintmark:

You guys amaze me...I've been looking through change for 25 years or more, and still have NEVER found a 1984 OR 1984D DDO in change. I have found a grand total of ONE 1984D RPM, and it wasn't anything real special.
