Another questionable eBay purchase which was listed as a rare(!?!) 1958/7 D Overdate, listed in Wexlers' Lincoln Cent Doubled Die Guide on page # 105 as MH-1-0-Vll. The picture dosen't show much but I guess it was enough to call it an overdate. Does anyone have anymore inforamtion? I not too impressed but for $6.00, I'll keep it as a curiousity. Steve
There are no overdates on the Lincoln series of Cents. Those are die gouges on the master hub were made from the reduction lathe. Chuck estimated the a large number of 1958 Cents has that same miss-identified mark. _________________ Richard S. Cooper

That's true. All of the recognized authorities in the field agreed back around 1995 that this is actually a reduction lathe gouge found on most 1958 cents. People still sell them for overdates because they use old books that are way outdated.
