If authentic (which I seriously doubt), the buyer got a deal. But most likely, the buyer just wasted a few hundred bucks.

If the seller truly wanted to do the right thing - they'd have it graded and authenticated first and not sold it the way they did (the 'I don't know - U-D-Cide' excuse). I see the classic 1955 DD for sale on ebay all the time - uncertified and selling for big bucks. If such sellers believe the coin genuine -why would they not get it certified? With so many fakes out there - I can't imagine who would buy such coins without authentication.

Unbelievable. $425. And he claimed that Ebay gave him grief about estimating a grade in his ad. Wow. According to P.T. Barnum, or whoever said it, that is 48 minutes worth of suckers. And Ebay rounds out the hour in another category.

My local bid board occasionally has a copper coated 1943 cent and they go for about 50 cents. Maybe I will try that next time. Let me copy that guy's description. Hmmmm Laughing

Or wouldn't he try the magnet without the staples?
