This 5 cent has doubled edges on 4 of the twelve sides, shame on me (Canadian Rolling Eyes ) I don't recall if this is typical or not. I don't save much Canadian so I don't have any other 12 sided 5 Cents to compare it. Anyone know?

That is not common on those 5 cent pieces. It is what I would call some sort of strike doubling though.

Bob, could that be considered "double struck in collar?

Thank you for the response, here's a closer shot that looks like doubled denticles.

A double struck in collar wouldn't apply here. Most double struck in collar errors affect the more center portions of the coin. I am thinking there was a loose die and some 'chatter' occured during the strike.

Bob, thanks for clearing that point up for me. I have always had some doubt as to how it happens.

Daggit,
I know you can't wait to 'play' with your new scope. I can hardly wait to see what kind of stuff you'll find with it. Best of luck, and just hang in there. Christmas is just a few days away!
