Hi all,Still going thru several rolls of older wheats and casme across this. The D looks to be placed to the right and is tilted. Also looks like a strike thru as the 6 is weak.Is this normal?Thank you,Ken
Ken,
Mint mark placement anywhere under the date is considered normal. You have to remember that they were all hand punched until 1990. There are many dates where the mintmark seems too close to the date or tilted. It is to be considered 'normal'. As far as the light strike, it could be from any number of things including a strike through (grease most likely). Your looks like it might be just wear. _________________ Bob Piazza
