Thought you might all like to see an awesome 1994 die clash I found today. Definitely a triple...maybe a quadrupled. Either way, it is a great looking clash that kinda 'pops out' at you. Enjoy...

I have never seen such a clear multiple clash on a modern Lincoln as this one.

Clashes don't carry a large premium for them except for the jail house ones. That one has three. Probably be a BIG bidding frenzy on ebay for that one. Too bad you didn't have rolls of them. You might be able to retire on them if you didn't flood the market with them all at once.

I found this one in a circ roll of memorials I got at the bank. I do have many of the 'prisoner cents', but this is the first one I have ever found that is this sharp that is anything other than a single clash.
Coop...you are right about a possible bidding frenzy. I have already got 4 offers on it based on the pics alone. I will have to make a determination on whether or not I want to keep it, or sell it.

The marks behind the head are not steps. The step area is deeper into the die. What you see is the lower edge of the memorial repeated because of multiple clashes. Look at the bays that are tripled they flow in the same pattern of stacking South of each other.

Reverse images would be nice. I'm guessing it's normal and the die was probably replaced. Bob wouldn't have missed sharing that with us if it weren't normal.

Actually, the reverse is pretty unremarkable. There is evidence of the clash, but it is no where near the strength of the obverse. Here are a couple of pics:

Gentlemen, correct me if I am wrong, BUT, In front of Abe's forehead is the remnant od the planter. Jjust beyond, and below is the area of the steps, adjacent, then the upper steps area, and stylobyte, at eye level. What say? Yay, or nay?

Hey Coop...could you post that full coin overlay pic of yours here? It would be easier to look at it and see the areas affected and what would be where. Thanks!

Here is a 2000 overlay for die clash target areas. The areas where the fields touch the devices would be affected as they are on the outside of the die. Other devices that are set deeper into the die would not affect a clash.

The planters would be under the nose and behind the head if they would appear.

I can see where the notch for the planter makes and never knew what made that shape. It makes a notch out of the bays on both sides. Never spotted that before.

I guess that shows that if you listen to your wife every once in a while, you'll have fewer lumps on the head..........
