Here's an unlikely piece of money from Ecuador. Apparently these Sac $ get a lot of use in this country. I have never seen one so worn.

It's also a bit fascinating how a US coin in another country can assume a different "look" due to circulation there.

I've heard that some of those countries use lots of them and SBAs.

Being a US modern dollar coin in the US must be the easiest job of any coin ever, they just get minted and sit in a vault.

Indeed. Laughing Or those statehood quarters that disappear from circulation. It makes me wonder what % of any mintage is necessary for commerce, and what % simply keeps the Mint and its food chain employed? Confused

Have you folks heard about the next series for the US quarter? I believe it was to honor State Parks and such (two per state). I believe the legislation has been submitted to take us through 2032 for the different US quarters.

Great Sad I see our coinage has deteriorated to being a fundraising effort.

The SAC dollar is the OFFICIAL coin of the realm, in Equador. They adopted it whrn it first came out, because it is very much like the people of that Country.

Next thing we will have is County Seat Commemorative Cents. That'll carry us through 2120 or so.

Thank you Robert, for the info. I have a few of both, but I don't collect them seriously. If one shows up, (other than in the change from the Post Office), I check it, and put it in a flip, or a folder. The Post Office retuns, I save to pay for postage! "what goes around, comes around"!
