So far, we have been in the middle of over a dozen tornado warnings here. Not much rain, winds around 30 MPH, and these quickly spun up tornadoes...many of them too close for comfort. Other than that, we aren't doing too bad. If you are stuck in the middle of these rain bands, you can get up to 5 inches of rain in a hurry, where people only a couple of miles away may not get anything. I may be going over to Louisiana to help out over there if the Red Cross calls me back up. Will keep everyone informed!

Everything ended up well for us here. Very little rain or damage in this area. A tornado hit Eglin AFB that did some damage, and there were many others tornado's yesterday morning, but no big damage.
Time to watch Hanna, Ike, and Josephine.

Bob, I don't know where your position is frelative to the tracks of FAYE, and Gustav, but if they straddled you, WATCH OUT! The next one could be right down your alley! Keep a parachute, and a life preserver handy. never can tell whether it may be a tornado, or a hurricane that comes your way! KEEP SAFE!

Dick....I was thinking the same thing. We just got teased by both Fay and Gustav, and that normally means the next one splits the difference. I gonna go out after every one's asleep and move the big bulls-eye somewhere else. Wink

Mike,
The tornado that hit Eglin uprooted some trees and put one big oak into an airman's house in the base housing area. It also did some damage to the child development center. No injuries thank God. It could have been very nasty with the tornado touching down in that area of the base.
