Hi all! I am new here. I have ALways been interseted in coins. My husband was at a collectors "fair" at our local mall... and he cam across some 1984 double dipped pennies. I don't know what mint they were fromm.. but the guy was selling 1 for $150 anf the other for $250.. does anyone know anything about these or how the common layperson might be able to tell them from single dipped pennies??

Thanks

Welcome dizzblnd. They must have meant doubled die cent. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984p1do001&die_state=eds
You can plainly see the doubling on Lincoln's ear. Joe

Welcome dizzblnd! Joeuk's response highlights the usefulness of this site, which is designed to let new collectors (like you and maybe even your husband) help themselves. There is a LOT of material here to see and use, so if you have any questions please ask.

Again, welcome to Coppercoins!
