Was opening some OBW rolls and this coin was in the center of one. Roll was tight and either a true OBW or very skillfully rewrapped. I've opened a lot of rolls and have never come across something like this. Difference in color was immediately apparent. Proper weight and diameter for a wheat cent. Any ideas?
Coin on left is one in question......

Problem is the 'brass plated' cents are the zinc based cents from 1982-present - not wheat cents. I cannot help much with this one because I cannot see a difference in any of them. I cannot detect the colors.

dpb, I see ths difference in the coloring; and the date, "1955" says it is copper. So the gasrbage being minted nowdays, is not the reason. I can only think it has to be in the wash. I don't know all that much about that aspect, but surmise that it has to be a certain composition, or more aptly said, solution, to leave a given color. Only a guess. I have wondered about that, but never took time to find out. Chuck id color-blind.
