Lesson #54...
Don't pay someone to overseed and fertilize your yard to hell during the Autumn and Winter then go a week and a half without mowing during the Spring because you don't have time. The grass STILL grows whether you mow it or not.
Lesson learned, I spent 7 hours mowing Sunday and created a clipping pile 4 feet high and 9 feet long....BLAHH!! Mow 20 feet, empty the bag...mow 20 feet, empty the bag...and I have a third of an acre lot!

I was sitting here imagining you doing the mowing Chuck...and laughing my a_ _ off! Since I've seen the yard, and even helped you mow once, I can feel your pain. I guess now that you'll be unemployed here soon, you can pay more attention to it and not let it get out of hand. Hang in there though...winter's only 7-8 months away for you!

Hi all,
I too can sympathize with your "mowing pains"....lol
Last year we had a very rainy spring and summer season as has this year been also........but I decided after last year....that I was not going to spend all that energy push mowing my coinnut acre........so at the beginning of this season I promptly marched down to the local lawnmower store and picked up one of those nifty 25 horsepower riding lawnmowers with a 48in mulching mower deck attached........
Hmmmmm, let'er grow!!!

My yard is HUGE, but I live in a clearing in the woods, and I can't see my neighbors, and I would never spend a dime on fertilizer.
So I let it grow until I can't see the cat, then I mow it. :P
