This is a funny place for a die break it look's almost like a cud.

It's not a cud. A cud is when the die breaks off part of an edge. Later examples of your coin may have eventually got there. Your right. It is an unusual place for a die break.

I think your 'die break' has something to do with the stain in the area. Looks like something rested on the coin, then was removed. I don't think it's a die break at all.
