Here's an overdate from Peru I picked up today.
This one's fun because it's just so obvious.

Hi Kurt, that is a nice one! Yes it sure stands out. Turn of the century, I was a bit surprised to see that in the date. I guess it actually goes a lot farther into the new century, before they get more modern equipment.

Thanks Dick, this one was rather obvious.
I found four other overdates in this series, including this 1909/7:
If you look closely inside the 9, you'll see contours of the 7.
It was hard to capture the mint luster on this coin--it's a nice grade too.
Here's a detail of the 9.
What's easy to see under a scope, isn't always easy to photograph

Kurt, that sure is a nice looking coin! Too bad all those old coins don't keep the luster, and condition, all those years! Someone, surely, must have noticed that, and "stashed" it, for a later day. It might have been part of someone's collection, that was "handed-down", and that person never knew the value, or maybe it was stolen. We will never know, but you are a worthy recipient, and I'm sure you will enjoy your find, as you have so many others.

Thanks CC! Dick--Yes, none of these coins look very circulated--although there are some interesting details. The fields still have original luster, amidst polishing marks and die clashes (arrow below). But at first glance, the granular design details almost look cast. Did the die (or hub) rust at some point? If they did rust, perhaps those details were left as-is, and they polished the fields?

kurt, another nice one! That rremnant at K-9 is easy to verify, as well. Looks like you hit the "jack-pot"! check the Early Copper section!
