Yes the 1982 cents can be copper or zinc.
Your 1982 is a large date.
The 7 types are:
1982-P large date copper
1982-P large date zinc
1982-P small date copper
1982-P small date zinc
1982-D large date copper
1982-D large date zinc
1982-D small date zinc
1982-D small date copper does not exist.
It's interesting that they never made small date D in copper.
For me the hard to find ones are the small date P copper or zinc.
Notice on your 1982 cent that the 8 has both balls of the same size? That is the large date. Then notice on your 1983 and later cents that the top ball is smaller. A 1982 small date has the later style of 8 with a small top ball like your 83 and later cents. If you check your 82 cents for ones with the small top ball the ones you find will be small dates.
