Sometimes the MD or stuff in the plating is easy to see but still not something good.
Everyone will have different suggestions, mine is focus on one year at a time (some year that you have a bunch of) and open the date guide and remember the ones for that year and look at only that year/mintmark in a sitting if you have enough of that coin.
I think you said you had a bunch of 1983 rolls? That would be a good year since it has several DDOs/DDRs. Look at each coin starting on the reverse looking for the 2 known DDRs. Then look at the obv, start on the motto then check the date looking for the listed DDOs. When you look at the motto focus on certain areas that most of the big DDOs show on like "IN GOD WE". See if you find something.
As a general rule always look for anything even unlisted ones but when you're still learning focus on looking for known existing ones. If you find something else put it aside for later.

Coop, we have 2009-D cents here! I picked up 6 from Wal-Mart, and home Depot. I'll check the bank.

So far no sight of them yet in Phoenix. I've heard some have found a few North-East of the area in Wickeup, AZ. But none spotted here yet.

I haven't seen a 2009 cent yet.
There are $25 boxes on ebay and today they're still going for $250-1000. Somebody's making easy money.
Dick:
I've heard that Walmart is one of the places that almost always gets the new coins first.

Ed, I think Wal-Mart, and Home Depot, both get their coins from the same Armored car service. The Post office also has been said to have them.
I will call the bank tomorrow, and see if they have them. I intend to get a box of each reverse. It may cost me some money, ( I mean more than "face")! They will be put up. I might think about getting a few rolls of "P", '09's, all reverses. I was able to get '06, '7, '08. Maybe i'll get lucky.
