Well lets see if I can get an opinion about this coin!? It does have the die dot above column. Do ya think I found it?
Thanx, Tery

I think the question was if this die is the 1970S-1DO-014P, not whether it was a small date or not. Tery, the P suffix on the die number denotes a proof die. Your coin is not a proof, and therefore not the 014P. I also don't see anything on your photos that leads me to believe this is a doubled die. Sorry....

I wonder how many of us missed the "proof' desigination on this, and thought nothing about it? Until Bob mnentioned it, It hadn't crossed my mind! "we look, but we don't see"!

Thanks Bob! First I really didn't even pay attention to the P, probably just thought philly.
Which brings me to another question, how to tell the differences between reg. proof & bussiness coins. Tried to google for images to no avail & couldn't find anything in the book. (HINT) Coop always posts such nice pics, maybe he could teach me in pics????

Tery,
Did you want to know the difference between proof and business strike coins, or just the die designator?
If you want to see some pictures of proofs, you can search the coppercoins database and anything with a P suffix is a proof coin. The surfaces are normally mirror like, and a cameo proof would have frosted devices. Proof coins have sharper devices, and the rims are more square. Do a search on 1962P doubled die obverses, and you will see plenty of both proofs and business strike coins.
