Found someone here in the Nashville area that apparently loves the Lincoln cent as he has hoarded a few hundred thousand of them over the years. He owns a home improvement business and sells 5000 count bags at local coin shows. I'm going to swing by his office on wednesday to buy a bag. We'll see how good it is. If I get lucky with a few good variety finds from the bag then I'll have a nice close resource for Lincoln wheats. Price is $250 for 5000. Not the best price but better than a lot of others. Again, we'll see.

HMMM, Lets see......$250, plus flat-rate, plus commission.....
Was this person a collector, too? Than could make doe an interesting subject. Might be worth looking into. Good luck!
I might PM you, maybe. I already have several tons of "unsearched wheats", so who knows?

We'll see what happens. This may be a good resource and it's close for quick and easy pick up. On the other hand, it might turn out to be a waste of time. The way I see it, The days of my buying 5000 count bags for $110 are well over and most everything I see online is $300 and up and I think they will just get more expensive as time goes on. I figure I will grab some while they are still only 5c each. My son in Knoxville said he'll probably try a bag also. wish us luck.

You might as well try a bag and see if it pans out.
It beats paying $250 plus SHI.

See if they're searched for varieties or not before getting more.

Good luck Smile

You could split a bag between the two of you to see if they've been picked clean. If not, buy a second bag.

I would be interested in learning more about those bags at $250. I live two hours from Nashville myself...

So, what have you found so far and was it worth the buy? I'd like to hear more about these bags...
