Thanks to a friend Down Under, I got a great group of Australia 50c coins!
I've so far noticed this DDO on the 2001 with the coat of arms reverse. It has some nice separation, but I don't think they get any more minor than this, The pics below show the doubling in AUSTRALIA.

Kurt, would that be the same as the LD? The "edging" seems to be all around the letters. Weren't there some similar edgings on the wheat cents, one, or maybe two years? I believe they were the copper coins, not the Zincolns. I don't include the IHC's, as they have a lot of this type lettering presentations.

Dick,
I tried to pick up the directional nature and serif separation on these letters, but obviously...it's a very minor DDO! It's more apparent under my scope. This isn't a great pic off my QX5, but it might show the directional offset:

I've found varieties like that. The scope can see, but a camera can't capture it. It only takes many images till you realize that it is too minor.

Coop, the only split serif I saw was on the bottom of the "S".
BTW, if you have a 1969-S DDO, MS-63 Red, it is worth about $86,250. At least that is what one went for, according to Heritage. I was just reading about it in the NN
