You hear of people finding all sorts of things while searching through one cent coins. I never have heard of anyone finding 1994P-1DR-001 with the column. Are these like super rare or do people not look for them?

It's a neat variety, one of the biggest DDR zincolns and rare but not as rare as the books say.
Also there's a few other similar ones for the same year.

Of all the years searching, I have found just one 1994P-1DR-001.

I have 3 of them, but I must have also searched many thousands of coins. I have heard of a few recent finds of this variety, so they are still out there.

I have seen about a dozen of them through the years, but since I live in the D mint district I rarely see 1994 plain cents...so my chances of finding one are slim.
