These legs are so small I can't tell if this is machine doubling or real doubling.

I'm not certain but it doesn't look like MD to me.
If you look at a proof cent you'll see it has a section of the chair that shows mostly on that that side along the leg but that chair section is straight.
Since yours looks curved like the leg (not straight like the chair) and slightly above the knees I think it might be a minor DDR. See what others think.

Ed, I think you have it right. I saw that sdmall part above thee right knee, and along the right leg. there is a shadow of the same feature inside the left leg. Maybe Bob will comment.

That's a great picture! I do not know if I would be so quick to call it machine doubling though. It very well might be, but I would like to have a 'hands on' look to be absolutely sure.
