Ended up with a cold today, so I can't go out and play in the new snow...but I'm happy enough watching it from the couch. Merry Christmas!

It's just an itchy throat, stuffy nose...nothing major. But it is something you don't want to carry around outside very much in 10 degree weather with 30 MPH winds. Absolutely brutal weather...and we ended up with only 2 of the 8 inches of snow they forecast. Not much of a base for sledding. We will probably wait until the next bigger storm for that. I should be over this little sniffle by then.

Chuck, I do want to let you know that it is very likely you will get that snow, if you aren't getting it now! The storm came thru here, ans capped the mountains with snow, then on the back-wahs, rained it all off. As you probably know, the Jet streams are well to the South gor a change, and we are getting the weather patterns, that I remember seeing, 60-70 years ago. That was when CA. was known as the land of the liquid sunshine. Not so any more. Our beautiful foprests are dying, and it is so sad to see "brown' trees, where you expect to see green. Take care of those "sniffles", lest they become more severe. GOD BLESS.

Happy Holidays is what politically correct people who are afraid to offend someone says.
Speaking as one who does not celebrate Christmas and is hardly ever politically correct, I don't have a single solitary problem with someone saying "Merry Christmas" to me, and I also don't have a problem with "Happy Hanukkah" or "Happy Kwanzaa" or whatever.
Those that do have a problem with it should keep it to themselves as should those that have a problem with others who don't believe as they do.
I honestly don't understand those that have a problem with what other people believe. What difference does it make???
Merry Christmas y'all!!

Feliz Navidad! That is how they say it in Mexico. It is neither "happy holiday, or merry Christmas. It translates Happy Nativity.
It used to be the custom, during the eve, and christmas Day, one would go visiting the friends, and family. Every where you went, there was food prepared. if you were hungry, you got a plate, and ate. Known, or unknown, you were welcome to eat, and continue your journey. If it was late, you were allowed to spend the night. There is a belief, that during Christmas time, HE walks among us, Un-recognized. The door is open and maybe HE will pass thru. who would turn HIM down, if they thought it might be "EL SENOR?

If I expressed a "godless" Christmas to anyone, my apologies.
I imagine you all got enough godlessness while shopping for gifts.
Have yourselves a genuine Christmas.

Kurt, and anyone who felt offended by my statements, It is not directed at you. I have become well known in mexico, and it is said that I don't have "Pelos en la lengua" para decir las cosas. Meaning, I say what I think, and let the chiops fall where they will. I have never learned how to please everyone, so there will always be those who do not agree, but that is their right, and I respect it! I hope everyone had a very nice family get-together. I did!
