Here's a link I found where they have a "mystery coin". Can you ID it? Without looking I can tell it's from the region north of Inida (Nepal/northern India). The date is the thing that looks like "4980" under the 2 people on the right. My guess, and it's only a guess without my books, would be a "temple token" from Nepal. What say you? Any experts in here?http://www.scarcecoins.com/mystery.htm

Hmm...as a "coin" I htink that's a bit of a trick question. I've seen many of these on another forum, which have been identified as Hindu temple tokens.

I posted a "date translator", some time back, but couldn't relocate it, and to make it worse, I can't 'lift" the image to p[ost it on world ID, so I am sitting waiting for an amnswer.

According to my Krause, the date is 5140. Not sure in which calendar though. And I really don't know what this coin is myself... I was just passing along what I thought may be an interesting challenge.
