These are the pretty strong doubled dies, and in my estimation are worth having a few graded and slabbed. ANACS in my estimation is the best for grading errors/varieties.

Agree, send the best ones to ANACs.
Does any TPG other than ANACs note the FY DDRs on the holder?

Supply and demand is all I can say. I have seen them sell for as little as $3, and as much as $50 when they first showed up. There are hundreds of thousands of each doubled die if they made a normal striking run with each die. If your dealer friend has a bunch of them, that should tell you that they you shouldn't need to spend so much on them.
As far as any other TPG slabbing FY doubled dies Ed...I am not aware of that at this time.

Errorcoins,
My advice is carefully pick some gem coins so you get some graded MS67-68 to make your grading cost worthwhile.
Also be sure you pay for attribution (if you don't know the die numbers) or verification (if you know the die numbers) or they'll come back with nothing noted on the holder.
Unless they raised the fee, the last time I sent some it was:
$12 grading
+ $5 for verification or $10 for attribution
+ $19 return postage & ins for 5 coins (more for more coins)
At those prices be sure it's worth it to you to have some of them graded.
If you do please tell us the results.
