I would search closed ebay auctions.
Just be sure to compare with other NGC graded ones at the same grade.

I think $55 was a bargain.
The grading fee included means you got them for a steal.
(my opinion LOL)

I have an NGC 1999-s CLOSE AM PF 67 RD ULTRA CAMEO and I think I also got it for a bargain but it was more than you paid for your 68 & 69.

I think the market for many varieties is low now days, a few years ago many coins were 2-3 times todays price. I guess it's good if you're buying and not good if selling Wink

Isn't the Close AM reverse the common reverse used on proofs, or am I mistaken?

On the proofs its supposed to be Wide and on the business strikes its close supposed to be Close. So When you find a Wide AM Business Strike its worth more and when you find A Close AM proof its worth more. Well I saw them and I asked the guy how much for your 99-s Close AM. He said I dont know They market for around 100 bucks so if i can get my grading fee out of them i will be happy. He said give me 30 bucks and i am cool. He's like i find them and send them in so I just want my fee back. Well then i said what will you take for both of them and he said 55. I said sold Laughing

Thanks, I thought I was confused on that. I have a 1998 Wide AM in a PCGS holder. I forget what the grade is. At least 65. Once I tried to trade it in with some others for a coin at one of my local B&M shops and the dealer didnt know what it was and would not take it.

Remember Garry that this is the proof issue. NORMAL for the proof is wide-AM and NORMAL for the business strike is the close-AM. The variety coins have the reverse types switched.

My best guess at values for the close-AM 1999S proof cent are:

PR66 - $30
PR67 - $50
PR68 - $100
PR69 - $200
PR70 - $350

The values are more or less guesses and should be taken as such. I found very little regarding sales history on them, and the highest grade values are formed from a baseline of average multipliers of other modern issues from one grade to the next.

Most of the history I have with this issue is full set sales, which have been 2 to 4 times the value of a normal set.

The 1998S issue is FAR less common and much more valuable.

I have sold two of the 1999S sets for $250 and $300, and purchased one of the 1998S sets for $1,200.

Daviscfd's dealer left alot of money on the table! Thats almost equivalent to a cherrypick. The only thing to worry about is that the coins won't turn bad in the holder.
