Per the cover of Sep 13 Coin World. A collector bought the coin from friend and it turned out to be a rare (50-60 estimated in existence) variety probably worth thousands.

Once again, the lesson here is to know your varieties!

Robert, I have to agree with you.
I read that same article, and wondered, "How many more are out there", just floating around, and the people moving the coins fro pocket to cashier, neither of whoom has the faintest idea that they are moving "literally" thousands of dollare from one to the other.
