So I went through an old stash of these coins. None of them have any chance of having silver in them. Is there any purpose of actually keeping these? Such as die errors, hidden values, etc.? I'd much rather cash them in and get a $25 box of copper. Just wanted to ask before I do something I'd regret. Thanks.

There are some varieties listed in the CPG and CONECA's website.
Aside from that, you can get used albums and plug holes, leave tips, or pay Coinstar 8.9 cents out of each dollar. You could also put them in mixed lots and sell them on ebay.
But the easiest move is probably just to cash them in at the bank.

My advice is...
Be slow to search.
If you only look for silver in clad or wheats in cents you'll only find a few goodies. If you tune in to all the varieties out there you might find some neat stuff among the ones you think are normal.

Normally, I steer clear of "custoer wrapped" coins, but with the systus quo, it is not a bad idea to check them, as well. Times are hard, and the old "stashes of pocket change, oad some of the older stuff" is showing up.

The twenty rolls of "customer wrapped" rolls turned out to be all "zincolns". I figured it would be like that, or there would be some wheats, etc.
So much for CW rolls.

I'm not sure where the posts are going from this thread...because many don't seem to respond to the originator of the thread.
The question is whether it's worth keeping Ikes and Kennedys or whether they should just be turned in to the bank...
The answer...they are worth face value and likely will be for another 40 years. Get rid of them.

I have to agree, and I am the biggest violator of tha, due to not being able to keep my attention on the subject at all times.
I was collecting half dollars, (rolls, both mints), and gave up on it, because I never was able to find the '78-D. The "P" was "along for the ride", mostly, vecause of the scarcity of the MM. I eventually cashed them in for quarters, and worked on my State Quarters series. Onec completed, the surplus went eventually for IHC.

Yeah I got rid of them about 2 days after I originally posted this thread so they're long gone . A couple days ago I picked up a few rolls of halves and found their are silver bandits in my area. No silver what so ever. I don't really feel like competing with this guy and I like the cooler, for frequent finds of lincolns. So that's where I'm staying! for now
