Hopefully my cut and paste url works.
I've never heard of this variety. It looks legit from the picture posted.
Anyone else ever come across it??

I did not check the site for the listing, but I'll bet it is not as it is painted. the photo is too blurry. I woul;d not have bid on it.

If you look at the questions and answers on this auction, it becomes pretty well clear what is going on. Machine doubling.

The DDR designation is as phony as the numbers that he gives associating the die.

That's actually not even machine doubling. It's rub wear that has affected the highest relief of the letters making the appearance of separation lines.

Anyone with mild education in doubled dies would skip this one immediately. Anyone who would buy this needs to get more education before risking their hard earned money.

I'd have thought that by now, FEEbay could afford to keep listings online longer than 90 days.

Cheap bastards.

Just reviewing posts and found this again.

There IS a known doubled die reverse for 1986 Philly cents...just so you know. Obviously the coin listed was not a doubled die, but don't give up hope on that issue. They are out there.

I found this a few weeks back. Is it the real deal?

Looks like a normal 86 cent. Do you see something going on, what did you think it is?

Welcome aboard Smile

Looks like doubling on UNITED ST to me, or is it just a trick of the light?

Here are a few more pictures - I need to learn how to take better ones as none of these seems to show the entire coin or do it justice.

I perceive doubling on "UNITED" and "ST." Also down the left side of the memorial and on a few of the columns. Also on the "ON" and "CEN"

I'll see if I can get better pictures in daylight. Thanks for all your input.
