Ken, I'm not sure I understand your question.

Did you mean the 1858 with small letters, or the 1858/1857. I have the '58 small letters, ( with a clash), but no 8/7.
I also have other '58's and '59's coming in.
I checked the 'book", to see if there are any listing of the 88/87, but nothint mentioned. I might not have seen it, if it is there, as I am not quite "up to snuff"yet.

Hope this helps,
Later: I repeated your question on another forum, (f-I-C_), to see if there is any response. I'll, let you know...

Ken,

I think that's correct. There are more than one variety of 1858 with 8 over 7 but they are the LL type and none known for the SL type.

Smile

Hi Guys,Thank you. That's what I thought.I looked at 1 on an auction site and it was claimed to be the 58/7 coin, but had small letters.Therefotre it can't be the overdate coin.

Unless it's a yet unreported variety - unlikely.

Ken, that is correct. FYI, here is a link that you may like:
http://www.fly-inclub.org/mainvarlist.html

for what it is worth,
PCGS only recognizes thee CherryPickers Guide for FE/IHC varieties. So if it isn't in the fourth, or the new fifth Ed., it won't be recognized and slabbed by PCGS They do not attribute by Snow numbers.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the info and link Dick.A friend of mine has it and I did buy it,but not as the 58/7 coin.I'll post a pic of it when it comes in.It does have the dot in-between the eagle and date as the overdate coin does.I am curious to see it in hand.Ken
