Hello, been lurking around here for a couple of years, but everyone usually says what I have to say, so there was no need to join.
BUT
I've found a 1979 penny in a proof set that looks to be spectacular. After I test my message here I'm going over to the photography group so get advice on posting a couple of shots so I can get some advice. It (the coin) looks like it has heavy trails diagonally left to right across the reverse. Nevertheless, I am not an error coin or varieties maven, so I can't be sure...
I have a stash of wheaties and a couple of Indians along with some silver rounds and commemoratives. Nothing spectacular, but I like noodling around with them and going to coin shows. And then, I befriended an antiques/estate dealer who wrinkles her nose every time she comes across 'grandpa's penny jar.' I snag some of those and search them, too.
