I've had this coin for some time and am not sure what it is.The areas except for below e do look like melted metal was added to the coin.The "lam" area does possibly look legit as I don't know how someone would be able to shave that area and look like it does.Any thoughts anyone?Thank you in advance,Ken

Could it be that the coin was plated, some gunk was under the plating and some plating peeled back?

Coin does look original except for a cleaning at some point.Don't see any evidence of plating.Silver solder could be the answer as it may have been disturbed before it hardened in the lam area

It definetly looks like silver solder... Someone may have dropped it on the coin by accident.

I figure the same thing - the burn marks around the extra metal really kinda slam dunk it as solder.
