Hello Dick
well we are at it again! the wife was in the hospital and was to be released in a day. well i am sure you heard about the hellish freeze we had here. well i had a pipe in the attic freeze and it ran for maybe 6 hours cause i was visiting Cathy at the Hospital.
anyway i got home and when i opened the door water at least 4 inch's deep ran out the door. good seal huh? lol anyway i called the insurance and we had started the dry out process within hours of me getting home. great company. well the insurance company set me up in a suit here in town so i went to get some rest as we had worked till almost 1 am making sure that i would not loose anything else. here's the kicker
i drive home and open the door to the most horrific sight i have seen in my 53 years. seems a gang busted down the back door and went in and destroyed everything they couldn't take.
they tagged every wall in the house, broke both toilets to hell tore the tube down broke every door in the house.cut up two pieces of art that cost over 5K each one was from Spain the wife picked up while serving in the air force in the 70's the other was from a friend that picked it up here in town for free while doing a clean out of an office building that had been repoed . i don't think they got into my safe but they gave it a good try cause the knobs and handle are beaten off it. i have to get a lock smith to open it but it is going to be a real bear because it is an 8 bolt safe.( i learned from the last time lol)
i am in the mist of doing a damage report for the insurance company and i am about half way done and am already at close to 80K. I should have kept my mouth shut but i was sooo messed up in my mind that i went to visit Cathy and i told her what had happened. well she did not take it well at all. she had a heart attack and just after they got her back both lungs collapsed and she is not back in the ICU on full life support yet again. they have her on a brain machine that shows she still has brain activity so we are hoping to get her back up soon i hope. she is in a coma (medical induced) and i was told today that it could take up to 3 months to get my home livable again. I really hope it don't take that long. i am doing good but don't know how much i have left cause she has been totally dependent on me for the last year and half she has not been the same sense her first stint in the hospital. i hope i can do it again or i should say i hope i get the chance to do it again.
anyway start the prayer thing again and lets hope it works out again. i am doing all i can to stay strong but it gets harder by the minute now and not by the day.I will be on now and then mostly late at night cause the assholes got all three of my computers and i am depending on the hotel computer and it is pretty much busy till this time of the night. OK i am done venting on ya buddy but you will get another ear full soon

Wow.. that is very sad. My prayers are with Gary, his wife, and his family.

My prayers are also with them.I hope they catch the lowlifes who would do such a cowardly thing.Must have gotten mad because couldn't get into the safe.

I'm sure the house can be fixed, it's his wife and him that need our prayers.

Ed you only said part of the situation.
They have undergone some of the worst of life that you can imagime. many of you know, from his posts, but they don't tell the whole story. i have received many emails, telling about the terials, and tribulations, that Cathy has unndergone, and she is still with us! she at one time was taking care of Gary, when he had a lot of surgery, etc. she did the posting, and now this. It seems that there can't be anything bad enough for some folks. They have to have THE worsdt, but they come thru smiling.
We can learn much from these two!
I am proud to be called, "buddy"!

Moved and touched deeply ... as i live in same city both me and my wife have been blessed and enjoyed both Cathy's as well as Gary's many hospitalities,as they have both welcomed us into their home and their lives.first hand i can tell you they are as good as they come,and we will be praying earnestly ... gotta go got something in my eyes .
