I'm trying to learn more about the Indian Head series, so I pose this question to those who collect them...
What's the most difficult, then the most valuable (if they are different coins) to find in the Indian Head series...remember, this is die varieties...

Here's my non-answer to your question. I just started looking at the books on Indian die varieties. Rick Snow has several guides out (the third is just out -- don't have it yet). The amount of information, to me, is overwhelming. So I decided that along with my grading project (1907 cents), I'd start to learn and look for the 1907 cent varieties.
No clue on the rarest, most valuable, etc.

I believe the most valuable is the 1873 doubled liberty. Not sure what the rarest is. The 1908 S Snow 1 RPM is considered fairly scarce

Maybe this RPD is the rarest?
I haven't gotten it attributed yet, but a couple people think it may be a new one.

Steve - Beautiful photo, but you'd have to point out the repunching to me - I don't seem to be able to pick it out.

Inside the upper loop of the 6. It's pretty minor...
This one is a little better.

Ahh...okay, I see it in both photos now. The lighting caught me in the first one. That's pretty nice, actually. I believe I would have to give that a 2 out of 5 for visibility. Is the lower loop of the 6 doubled to the inside as well, or is that just me?

Yeah, it looks like there are some remnants there, also. Nothing to get excited about, but it would be cool if I was the first to notice this one.
As for your original question, well, I'm no help. I just collect what I find.
