Under "The weather, Your Cat"... There was discussion of the Atheist Florida Man and his lawsuit.

So, gentlemen I present "The Atheist Cent". This was big in 1970 and was supposed to be the next 1955/1955, even though it is a different type of error. I remember seeing them for sale in Coin World and other publication of the time. You don't hear about this error much anymore. Does anyone have an idea of current value?
It's the Large Date Type (low 7, sharp and bold LIBERTY"
And, actually it's a "NO WE TRUST", not a "NO GOD" situation, but they still called it the "Atheist Cent" for marketing I am guessing.

It's a well known CUD. If someone has a book on CUDs I'm sure it's mentioned.
I like seeing the other sides on CUDs, almost as neat as the CUD side.
So many times the hyp-ers use that line "the next 55/55" and it never turns out to be true. LOL...

Looks like an end of the roll wrapper damage. Seems like the good ones get shot down with that!

Exactly! A neat error but the roll crimper put a scrape on it.

Coop I like your 1977 Lincoln Cent better - "No God", but they promoted the heck out of the 1970-S Lincoln Cent Large Date. Below is what PocketChangeLottery says about it.

• The 1970-S "Atheist" cent.
The motto IN GOD WE TRUST has appeared on the Lincoln
cent right from the coin's inception in 1909. But in 1970,
small numbers of cents from the San Francisco Mint seemed to
have been sabotaged by a devil's advocate: The words WE TRUST
were covered by a blob of metal. Part of the metal on one or
more obverse dies had broken off, causing what is known as a
"cud," or lump of metal, to appear on that part of the coin
instead of the regular imprint of the design. Because this
error impaired the tribute to the Almighty, the coin was
promptly dubbed the "Atheist" cent. It isn't a great rarity,
but it's certainly an interesting conversation piece, it's
worth a few dollars--and it's findable in ordinary pocket
change.
Anyone find one of these in pocket change?
