Did anybody else think the editorial in the May 23rd issue of CW is anti-military?

I didn't read it.
However, the general consensus of opin is becoming anti-military, and has for many years.
people don't stop to think, that if it weren't for the "Military', they might be speaking some other language, or be someone's slave?
Or dead.

Or the one in NN that said risk-free investing by retirees is unacceptable and unpatriotic.
If you're not fodder for Wall St they think you're the problem.

We are returning to the mind set of the "Nam war". Do I point fingers? You bet!!!! The in power government, the liberal media and the peace movement idiots.
Need I say more.

The problem is that too many had little, or nothing to do with it, and they have too much to say about something they know so little about.

The original editorial can be seen here: http://www.coinworld.com/articles/military-themes-dominating-commemorative-coin/
Here's what I wrote in a Letter to the Editor of CW:
| Quote: |
| Based upon Ms. Deisher’s editorial in the issue of May 23, my association with Coin World is ended. My subscription, which I have had for well over a decade, will most definitely NOT be renewed. In my opinion, her editorial is absolutely anti-military. It is worse than the partisan political attacks you allow in your Letters to the Editor, editorials, and columns. I was willing to overlook the politics because although it is there, it is usually subdued, but I cannot ignore the attack on the US military. As said in the last line of her May 23rd editorial, “It’s time to call attention to the problem.” Numismatic publications should not allow either partisan politics or anti-military (or, for that matter, pro-military) sentiments in their pages. |
Here's what I received from Bill Gibbs <bgibbs@coinworld.com> SEVEN MINUTES LATER:
| Quote: |
FYI. It is interesting that a reader can interpret the Editorial as anti-military.
Bill |
What's interesting is that the editorial staff of Coin World is so freaking full of itself that it can't imagine a reader with enough intelligence to interpret something.
